Day 2: Making a Commitment

Today's Affirmation: I honour my commitments to myself and others.

Welcome to Day 2 of Air Week. Today is about making a commitment to change your life. Many of you have probably read this quote, today seemed like just the right day to share it:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw
back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary
truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the
moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of
things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole
stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of
unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could
have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do,
begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” -
Goethe

What are you going to commit to today?

And as we are paying attention to air this week, I thought I would share with you what I noticed in the air outside my house in the video above. What are you noticing about the air?

Jamie & Group- Due to a cyber-stalking situation, I decided I would feel safer participating if I could use a blog that was invitation-only. I hope it will not limit my connection with the group too much. I will be happy to send invites to those interested in reading.

Please change my blog link to:

This is the hardest day for me. I knew it would be.

The first thing I noticed when I woke up this morning was how I was breathing - I think that that is a very good sign!

I also wanted to say - I put all of the values on post-its and have put them up on the wall. All day I am going to look at them and move them up and down as I decide on where they should be. I'm hoping to have a list by tonight!

Good luck today everyone!

Air week is great! I was outside noticing the winds and how nicely they were making the areca palms sway and it looked like the trees were talking to one another. I thought it was so beautiful! The I noticed a section that did not move and I said oh whats wrong why are you not talking and as on que they were swaying. Totally great! I am making committments and now the challenge in meeting them.

Love that quote by Goethe, I've only read parts of it before. It is exactly what I'm working with right now - Boldness, Action.

The air really has a voice, doesn't she Jamie? Wow, there are still leaves on your trees. I fear winter is making its way to Nova Scotia first, I hope I am ready for her this year.

as i was feeling unwell still, i chose to go with level one. my commitment - daily meditation.

i'm so rapt that already this book is helping me to bring more positive change in my life. things i've wanted to do but have put off are now things i am making a point of doing.

i love feeling the breeze on my skin...listening to and watching it communicate with and caress the trees.

I have noticed that a few of us are suffering respiratory problems.. I wonder if this has anything to do with us clearing out stale air from ourselves??

This was a very difficult day for me personally. Hopefully I can work through the problems with the new commitments I have made to myself.

I'm just getting into it and feeling happy that I have some direction...something to help me get where I want to go. So glad to have company on the journey!

Turleheart, I would love also like to be invited to read your blog. I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with such a disturbing situation.

When the first doubts creep in...

"I'm not keeping up."
"I want to respond to all the wonderful blogs. Will I have time?" I breathe.

My commitment to myself includes giving myself permission not to keep up with everyone else. I will comment on everyone's blog... eventually! :)

I didn't blog about the air, but here's what I've noticed: on my skin, delightful. Through my nose, a struggle.

I continue to feel restricted in my breathing, especially at night. sometimes i feel like I'm drowning, i just want to breathe so badly.

This is not new, but my attention to it has intensified with this process.

I think this topic is on going - to me it is very difficult to just do and walk away - it entails alot - still working through things!!

Being more aware of the air is something that so often I take for granted. I am practicing my deep breathing, but tonight the wind was blowing so hard that my front door just popped open! My dogs stood staring out the dog as if someone was there. I listened and it indeed sounded like a voice. So many doors are opening, just by observing the air. It sounds like everyone is enjoying this journey as much as I am!

i had a lot of fun with the exercises today. i've noticed that the air feels cool and damp and still here.

I'm both excited and frightened by my commitments. But I think that I can overcome myself!

I'm so sorry to hear about your cyber-stalker Turtleheart. That's just awful.

I'm also glad to see that Wind is playing with some of you - it loves to play. Ever notice the little whirlwinds of leaves and papers? Sometimes, Wind will bring them to you - usually just out of reach!

Exercises were very tough at first, but I persisted. And I am thrilled with the end results. (Gist of which is on blog, with lots of the grappling kept to the personal journal :-)

Thanks everyone for your understanding of my situation and special thanks to all who have commented and e-mailed.

Wow, today's topic brought up a whole bunch of garbage for me, which took me completely by surprise. I'm breathing in... and out...

Our air here is so clean but I don´t always take the time to appreciate this. I´m grateful for having clean, crisp air to breath and let into my home.
